The purpose of this tool is to produce 3D model reconstructions of designated crime scenes based
on photographic evidence collected by DSF field agents. Usage of the tool is split into three
(3) phases.
Image Scanning
Use the camera on your device to scan photographic evidence provided to you by a field agent. The
progress bar on the top of your screen indicates how much more material is needed to produce
accurate results.
Scene Placement
Once enough material has been scanned, the progress bar will be replaced with a "Scene
Reconstruction Complete" message. You should now be able to point your device at any surface and
tap to place the reconstruction on it.
Examination
With the model placed on a surface you can now proceed to examine it and extract relevant
information. Feel free to move around the scene, or get closer for a more detailed view. You can
also translate, rotate, and scale the model using tap & drag, two-finger spin, and two-finger
rotation respectively.
